How to winterize a hot tub?
Winterizing a hot tub involves draining the water from the spa and essentially closing it down for the season. All water must be removed to make sure the hot tub is operational when spring comes. Where is that water? It’s in the spa itself, in the plumbing, and in the hot tub pumps. When you winterize a hot tub, you will need a shop vac, soft cloth, surface cleaner, and the tools required to remove the cabinet.
Master Spas does not recommend that owners winterize their hot tub. Because of the amount of plumbing, it can be tough to remove all of the water. And, simply put, it’s a risk. If too much water is left in the plumbing and it freezes, this expansion of the water as it freezes could stress and crack the plumbing, fittings, and equipment housings (“freeze damage”).
How much clearance do I need for hot tub delivery?
When you are preparing for your hot tub delivery, it’s important to know the dimensions of your new hot tub. The delivery crew can bring in a hot tub either flat or upright, depending on obstacles like trees, landscaping, or gates in the area. When determining the clearance, it’s best to add at least 4 inches to the outside spa dimensions.

How to turn on a hot tub?
Every hot tub manufacturer will have a different control panel. To turn on a hot tub by Master Spas, press the Jets button to start the pumps.
How to raise pH in hot tub?
PH, or potential hydrogen, refers the acidity or basicity of the water. The goal is to have a neutral, stable pH to prevent hot tub damage and unhealthy conditions. If the pH is low when you test the hot tub water, you will want to raise the pH. Master Spas recommends a product called pH Up. Evenly sprinkle the product over the surface of the water and turn on the jets. Re-test the water in 15 minutes. Refer to the package directions and your owner’s manual for how much product to use.
How long does it take to heat a hot tub?
It can take a hot tub several hours to heat up, depending on the weather conditions. With the hot tub cover snugly on, the temperature will increase about 4 degrees an hour.
How much electricity does a hot tub use?
The amount of electricity a hot tub uses depends on the size, temperature settings, and how often you use it. Master Spas manufactures energy-efficient hot tubs that, on average, cost less than $30 a month to use. However, most Master Spas hot tubs cost about $20 (or less) per month to operate.
How to hook up a hot tub?
Most hot tubs require a 240V/50 Amp connection. In addition, all hot tubs require a high-quality GFCI circuit breaker and should be connected by a licensed electrician.
Master Spas does manufacture 120V/15 Amp hot tubs, which are commonly known as plug-and-play spas. These hot tubs can be plugged into a dedicated wall electrical outlet.
Getaway Hot Tubs by Master Spas are affordable hot tubs that deliver the benefits of hydrotherapy in a portable package. There are five lightweight and easy-to-hot tub models, with two spas hot tubs that include plug and play technology.
Should I leave my hot tub on all the time?
You should keep your hot tub plugged in at all times. It’s important to run the circulation pump to ensure the water and chemicals stay filtered. However, you can turn down the hot tub temperature when it’s not in use. A lower operating temperature will help reduce how much your hot tub costs to operate.
Can you put a hot tub on a deck?
You can place a hot tub on a deck as long as the structure supports the weight of a filled spa. If you are considering this option, you should consult a qualified contractor or structural engineer to be sure that the deck can hold the weight of it.
